Genital psoriasis appears as smooth, red shiny patches. The scales are mostly gone because they rub off against your clothes when you move. Men may have small red patches on the shaft or tip of the penis, while women may have some patches in the skin close to the vagina. This form of psoriasis can also manifest on the upper thighs and the anus, both of which may be irritated by tight clothes or sweat.
Genital psoriasis can be distressing and affect your self-confidence if you want to form new relationships. The good news is that it cannot be spread from person to person.
