How to tell if you are using sex as a weapon – or if it is being used as a weapon against you:

  • If you nag and criticize your partner on a regular basis, which you know will dampen the sexual desire of your partner, you may be using sex as a weapon to get out of having sex.
  • You might keep track of things you want your partner to do, you may decide to withhold sex until he or she does what you want. This is definitely using sex as a weapon to get your own way.

Research has shown that sex is an important part of romantic relationships. Studies also maintain that physical love should be used to deepen the connection between couples, and should not be used to drive a wedge between partners.
